When I opened my first tea room many years ago...I was asked why I would open in an area that had so many problems. "More the reason to bring hope and cultivate beauty " was my answer. It was my hope to start a "mindset, a "way of Being" for all the wonderful people who walked through my door and by my door. Over 20 years ago there was a sense of fear and feeling depleted .... being in awe of President FDR who encouraged society through depression, oppression and recession I started the "Presidents Society" for like minded individuals.
